The Young Inspectors project is run by York Youth Services and trains targeted young people to inspect services and make recommendations for improvement. Our recommendations provide services with vital information that can be used to plan and deliver better services for young people.

The Young Inspectors inspected York Minster using the following methods:

  • Observation of the building
  • Participated in a guided tour
  • Observation and participation of the Undercroft Museum
  • Website and Social Media Review
  • Interviews with staff
  • Questionnaires for the Canons

The Young Inspectors have put together a report on their inspection, which provides more details on the different areas of the Minster that they inspected. The report also shows some recommendations the Young Inspectors have put together, which they think will help the Minster become more appealing to young people.
