Description

We Are Theatre is a professional theatre company that aims to make theatre accessible for all.

Part of our work involves running performance member lead theatre groups for adults with disabilities. Volunteers play a vital role in working within our sessions and supporting the members during the rehearsals and performances. This is not a care role however, as that aspect is undertaken by members own support staff. Volunteers roles can vary but can include welcoming the members upon arrival and engaging in conversation about their week. Running the tuck shop. Supporting members getting on and off stage at the right time. Aiding members to develop character ideas and song choices for the performances. Working backstage during the performances (3 a year). Those with skills in dance or theatre may wish to aid in warm-ups and cool downs during sessions. Sessions are held on Wednesdays at Huntington- Garth Court (4 - 5.45pm).
