Description

The housing Options team are the first stop for all York residents with a housing problem or in need of housing advice.
For 16 and 17 year olds you can get support through the youth homeless workers. They can be directly contacted on tel. 01904 554356, email: youthhomeless@york.gov.uk .
There are many reasons you may need advice including:
being asked to leave by family or friends
breakup in relationship
find out more about part rent/part buy schemes
leaving hospital
leaving prison
looking to rent
mortgage arrears and house repossession
notice to quit or notice seeking possession received from landlord
reduncancy or loss of earnings
rent arrears from the council, housing association or private landlord
eviction
information about private rented housing
The housing options team's priority is to keep you in your home and to explore your other housing options including the private rented sector, shared ownership, social and supported housing.
We are fully accessible and use the hearing loop system. All staff are DBS checked.
Emergency homeless only after 3:30pm on all days unless prior appointment.
